Another Day, Another Drink, Another Beach!

Made baking powder biscuits this morning. They will be out of the oven in about 5 min. Not satisfied with their size. Maybe baking powder is old. Turned the genset on this morning. The refrigerator was struggling. Recharging batteries for the day. Will try to get some laundry and some fishing done this morning.

More later.

By the way, the biscuits were only passable!!  Doggone.  Suppose I didn't let them rise long enough.  But then, I will try them again in the near future.

Walked into this side of town today. We figured we needed the exercise. Ron and Theresa and Art and Brenda rode their golf cart. They went looking for a beach while R and I went into see what was cooking. By the time we got there, everything was closed until 2pm. Hmmmm where is this? Mexico? So we walked back out to Pineapple's to meet up with the cart.

In the end, we ended up splitting a cart with Tom and Gerri. So much for exercise!

We stopped by Miss Emily's to taste the original Goombay Smash. Just a lot more alcohol than the other places.

The afternoon was spent at a beach looking for seashells and in general just having a relaxed time. Found a couple of conchs, but too small to keep. Beautiful scenery though!

Went to Sundowner's for a pizza with the group. We heard from Ron Ieva that two other boats from Boca Chica will be at Great Guana Cay on Saturday, so we will have a brief flotilla of 7 boats then. We are looking forward to Knippers for the pig roast on Sunday.

Things seem a bit expensive, but in a conversation Renne had with a local grocer, she discovered Bahamians pay a consumption tax not an income tax. So everybody pays for services, not just the upper 50% as they do in the US.

So we left Sundowners and headed back to the boat. It was so quiet! Nice!

We are having fun and just enjoying life right now.
